ABOUT THE BOAT
15 metre Naiad designed rigid inflatable. Naiad are a New Zealand company specialising in rigid inflatables and coastal patrol vessels.

Thunderbolt 1 is in 1C survey for 42 passengers and 3 crew.

Hull and superstructure are aluminium.

Engines (2) are SCANIA D112 Turbo charged electronic controlled 6 cylinders generating 575 HP at 2100rpm.

Gearboxes are Twin Disc Quickshift type MGX5114.

Propulsion system is SeaFury SF 30 surface drives, designed and built in New Zealand.
Light ship speed is 40 to 45 knots, light ship weight is approximately 9.5 tonne, heavy ship is 14.5 tonne.Thunderbolt 1 is a new dimension in outer reef travel encompassing the Raging Thunder spirit of adventure. It's more than a reef trip, it's an adventure experience where getting there is half the fun …!!!! The Reef is a bonus!!
